The mission of University Programs and Events (UPE) in the Office of the President is to develop programs and events that exemplify the University’s identity as a premiere global institution. Through innovative programming, President Lee C. Bollinger aims to provide a platform for students and faculty from across the University to engage in dialogues with distinguished speakers on a range of pertinent topics that encompass all disciplines. UPE promotes programs that will enrich the student experience and strengthen University partnerships on campus, within the community and worldwide.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will give a keynote address at the NYC Global Partners summit "Job Creation and Workforce Development." Panel discussions will feature experts from Barcelona, London, New York City, Shanghai, Santiago, Toronto, and the OECD. Presentations will highlight successful policies and initiatives to train a competitive urban workforce.
